Family and Community Engagement Coordinator ​(Ridge) Job Description

Definition:

The Family and Community Engagement Coordinator will join the Aspen Community Schools team ​as the coordinator for family and student engagement at Aspen Ridge Public School. The ​Coordinator will work collaboratively to guide Aspen Ridge in achieving and evaluating the five-​year implementation plan as established by the Community Schools Advisory Council. The Family ​Engagement Coordinator will lead and coordinate parent volunteers and education, provide ​oversight for after school tutors, and expand and accelerate learning opportunities. With the ​Community Schools Coordinator, the Coordinator leads the Community Schools Advisory Council, ​monitors progress towards goals, develops and manages new partnerships, and connects ​students and families to community resources.



The Family Engagement Coordinator will:

  1. Coordinate outreach efforts, volunteers, and special events that meet needs of students and ​families
  2. Coordinate and deliver evidenced-based family education programming designed to build ​family members’ capacity to foster social and emotional learning support
  3. Collaborate with new and existing partners on community projects
  4. Support meaningful engagement of students, family members, partners and staff
  5. Integrate Aspen’s mission of transformational leadership into all areas of school life
  6. Work closely with middle school and high school students in areas of student leadership ​development, student clubs, and after school activities
  7. Work with the Aspen Ridge staff team to elevate and center student voices, creating ​opportunities for involvement and connection

  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred



Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Education, Community Development, or a related field
  • Two or more years working with diverse populations within a school or nonprofit context.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation
